Make the turned section as long as you like to minimize stooping, and so you can use it with your boots. It's actually a first class lever, so length is good. This is a very solid set of hardware, constructed entirely of stainless steel. The hang hole lets you locate it conveniently on a hook in the mud room. Both the shoe horn end and the butt end have integral posts that are glued into your turning. Use our 3/4'' turning mandrel (#51530, sold separately) to get the diameters just right.
